Naturopathic Medicine: Dr. Cynthia Hnatko

Dr. Cynthia Hnatko, a naturopathic doctor, is a mother of 3, and practices Naturopathic family medicine with a focus on women’s & children’s health, fertility & perinatal care.
Before studying Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Cynthia completed a degree in Nursing at Ryerson University. Her passion for working with pregnant women and infants began while she was a Registered Nurse working for Public Health’s Healthy Babies, Healthy Children program. Her work in hospital Labour & Delivery and Post-partum programs motivated her to become a Doula and provide support for women wanting a natural birth experience.
Her background in both conventional medicine and alternative healthcare provide her with a balanced perspective when treating patients. She believes in integrative multi-disciplinary healthcare, providing treatments that complement the care you may already be receiving from other health care practitioners.
Cynthia has a patient-centred approach to care using individual treatment plans in which the patient is an active participant in all health decisions. She believes in using food as medicine whenever possible and that healing begins in the gut. She is passionate about teaching parents how they can give their children the best start in life, beginning with the choices we make during pre-conception, pregnancy and birth. She enjoys working with people of all ages to help them create optimal health and prevent illness as they move through life.
Cynthia is licensed to practice Naturopathic Medicine in Alberta through the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA). She is also a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
