Services:
Reflexology is a gentle compression technique that is performed on the feet and/or hands. By stimulating the more than 300 points, a nerve response is sent to the corresponding organ, gland, or body area to clear congestion and balance function.
The physical, mental and emotional changes that a woman undergoes during pregnancy can be overwhelming for some. Many women can find relief from many of the common pregnancy related complaints with the help of reflexology.

What are some of the Benefits of Reflexology?
  • Increased Blood Circulation (can lead to increased oxygen reaching tissues and an improvement of healing)
  • Lowered/balanced Blood Pressure (as long as it is not pre-eclampsia related)
  • Detoxification
  • Relaxation
  • Lymphatic Drainage
  • Reduction of swelling around joints (as long as it is not pre eclampsia related edema)
  • Endorphin Release (Your Natural “Pain Killer”)
  • Immune System Stimulation
  • Increase in energy
Note: Due to the incomplete data collected regarding reflexology in the early stages of pregnancy reflexology will not be done on any pregnant woman before 12 weeks. There is little evidence showing complications however most practitioners agree that it is best to wait until after 12 weeks to receive reflexology.

Reiki is a Japanese born technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki practitioners use a "laying on hands" technique which is a light, healing touch on various body areas to clear and balance energy flow. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us. If one's "life force energy" is low or unbalanced, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress/pain. If it is in balance, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki addresses physical, emotional, mental andspiritual imbalances. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to use reiki.

Reiki during pregnancy can be a gentle yet powerful, non-invasive treatment that provides emotional and physical support to the woman.

What are some of the Benefits of Reiki?
  • Reduced fatigue
  • Reduced lower back pain
  • Balanced mood changes
  • Reduced stress
  • Reduced emotional disruption experienced both during and after pregnancy
  • Reiki can create a balanced, loving and harmonious relationship between the mother and the child
  • Reduced anxiety, sleep problems, colic, and enhances motor activity and active sleep
  • Used during labour stage has been shown to help control and lessen pain and ease delivery
  • Can be used to help improve the whole family’s experience through pregnancy
