Bronwen Agnew

Hello!

I am a Montreal-based midwife, looking forward to the adventure of relocating to Edmonton to work with the Lucina Birth Center team! I completed my midwifery studies at l'Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, training with midwives at out-of-hospital birth centers in Montreal and Winnipeg. I worked at the Cote-des-Neiges Birth House in Montreal before taking maternity leave to have my daughter.

I love working on a team that provides the possibility for all three options for birthing locations: home, birth center and hospital. I enjoy supporting families in determining which of the three locations is right for them, and I feel comfortable attending births in all three settings.

I have an interest in providing care for the LGBTQ community. I believe that it is love that makes a family and not always genetic connections, and strive to provide care that reflects this belief. I also have an interest in working towards accessibility of midwifery care for families with precarious immigration status.

I truly enjoy getting to know my clients and what is important to them, and cherish the privilege and responsibility of accompanying families on their journeys through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. I look forward to meeting you!

I speak English and French.
